The Skipton Girls' Robotics Team attended the Yorkshire Regional Lego League Competition today at Bradford University. There were three rounds to compete in, which included the innovation project presentation, the robotics challenge and a team building challenge. From over 30 school the Skipton Girls' Robotics Team won the robot challenge with a winning score of 135 points (national average 40-60 points).
The girls have worked exceptionally hard over the past three months preparing for today, building a robot, learning the programming and preparing for the presentation on their GPS Hedgehog Home app and website project. The girls in the team were Bethan Batson - Yr 11, Cara Dunlop, Jessica Dawson, Laura Cooke - Yr 10, Sian Sandhu - Yr 9, Abigail Fowler, Eva Hiles - Yr 8 and Hannah Gorski, Alice Fleming, Katherine Quinlan and Isobel Arthur - Yr 7. A big thanks to Charley Wray - Yr 12 and Mr Leete who both gave up so much of their spare time to support and mentor the students. This was our first entry into this international tournament and they should all be very proud of themselves!
