Skipton Girls' High School Sixth Form Provision 15 - 16

Year 12 students at Skipton Girls' High School started with four A level subjects as part of their basic entitlement, from a wide range of courses. This included the opportunity to study for the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and/or the AQA Baccalaureate award.

At the end of Year 12, students were offered the option to continue to study four A level subjects, reduce to three A Level subjects,  and/or take up a new AS level.

Reformed A levels are delivered with public examinations (AS) in Year 12. This was relevant to the following courses commencing September 2015: Art, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, English, History, Physics and Psychology and it was the school policy for students to sit these AS exams. Only in exceptional circumstances did students not take the AS in the A level subject.

Unreformed (legacy) A levels followed a modular structure and were delivered with public examinations (AS) in Year 12 and at the end of Year 13 (A2)
