Business Administration Apprenticeship - Apprenticeship level: Advanced Level 3Job Type: Apprenticeship 35hrs per week. Expected duration: 64 weeks. Possible start date: 2nd Jan 2021.

Description:

The Business Administration Apprentice (Payroll/HR Assistant) is an integral part of the central Trust team and is responsible for processing the Trust payroll, supporting the NSAT HR Manager to ensure staff are paid on time in accordance with their contract of employment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Provide a timely, accurate, efficient and effective monthly payroll
  • To be responsible for the monthly processing of the Payroll service which includes salary, pension and overtime/expenses administration and operation – with due regard to deadlines and employment legislation, and Trust policies and procedures. This will include new starters, leavers, contract changes and any other relevant personnel administration
  • Collate and input monthly payroll data including timesheets and any other payments and deductions such as maternity and paternity leave calculations, and transactions relating to salary sacrifice schemes including Childcare Vouchers and the Cycle to Work Scheme, in liaison with the Trust’s 3rd party payroll provider, Dataplan
  • Administer the Epayslips, dealing with any direct queries from NSAT employees.
  • Ensure that all data on any manual and / or computerised HR and payroll systems is accurate and up to date, and that confidentiality is fully respected at all times
  • Assist in the process of annual cost of living and incremental pay increases
  • Assist the NSAT HR Manager with the collation of the pension year-end data for the purposes of external audit 
  • Work closely with the Trusts’ 3rd party payroll provider, Dataplan, on all aspects of Trust payroll processes
  • Remain up to date with TPS and LGPS in order to support the administration of all pensions, giving support where applicable to staff and senior managers

Description:

Harrogate High School, part of Northern Star Academies Trust, are seeking to recruit a Lead IT Technician. NSAT is an innovative and growing multi-academy trust. Its operational model is based around a centralised executive management function and three geographical ‘hubs’ – Harrogate, Skipton and Keighley – enabling the sharing and managing of resources in support of the local hub schools. The Lead IT Technician role is critical to the effective and efficient running of the schools in the Harrogate Hub (1 secondary and 3 primary). The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, positive, well organised and possess the ability to work in close partnership with staff from across the schools and colleagues in the MAT Centre.

You will:

  • Be responsible for the day to day management of all ICT services at Harrogate High School, being the first point of contact for IT support escalation and problem management within the school;
  • Line manager to an ICT apprentice, overseeing their day to day duties and assisting in their development
  • Work within the Trust ICT team to help support all primary schools across the Harrogate Hub;
  • Take a proactive approach in dealing with IT support requests and software / equipment faults to ensure a high standard of support is always maintained;
  • Monitor all critical systems, such as anti-virus, networking equipment, server hardware systems and respond to alerts generated by these systems appropriately;
  • Work closely with the Exams and Cover Manager to implement and support all online examination client / server software for individual examination boards;
  • Be efficient, organised and capable in order to prioritise tasks effectively;
  • Be approachable and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Applicants will ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working as an IT Technician preferably in a similar environment.

FInance ManagerJob Type: Full time, term time only plus 10 days

As the Trust has flourished we are now looking for a Finance Manager to join our central Trust finance team. The Finance Manager will be an integral part of the finance team, leading the day to day finance processes and collaborating closely with the Trust Chief Finance Officer and our hub Business Managers.
The appointed candidate will be a qualified, or part qualified, accountant with a proven track record in leading a team. This post is a great opportunity for a high calibre individual who wishes to use their experience in the education sector.

Nursery Assistant ApprenticeJob Type: 30 hours per week. Term time only (plus 5 training days)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic person to fill a new role as an Apprentice Nursery Assistant. The role is extremely varied and you will be responsible for a range of areas such as:

  • Contribute towards providing a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children at the nursery.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic person to fill a new role providing administrative support to the school. The role is extremely varied and you will be responsible for a range of areas such as:

  • Being the first port of call for parents and children
  • Submitting data returns to outside agencies e.g. DfE
  • Ensuring the school is Health and Safety compliant;
  • Ordering of goods and services;
  • Maintaining accurate records;
  • Supporting processes such as induction of new starters and recruitment;

You will need to be experienced in using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel etc), finance systems as well as using in-house database systems. The successful candidate will have an awareness of safeguarding procedures within school and have had experience appropriate to working with children.
