STEM Awards 01

The Enthuse Celebrations Awards are presented each year to recognise the impact that teachers, technicians and support staff have on their pupils, colleagues, schools, colleges and peers as a result of professional development provided through STEM learning.

This award is testament to the outward facing and highly collaborative approach that enables SGHS to provide high quality professional development to all staff both within and beyond the school.

It also recognises the significant impact of the school’s partnership with STEM Learning supported by the Wellcome Trust, Gatsby Charitable Foundation, the Government and other funders of related STEM projects.

The UK awards ceremony and dinner was hosted by Kevin Hollinrake MP and held at the Houses of Parliament on 20th July 2017.   Headteacher Jenn Plews, and Director of Northern Lights Teaching School, Kate Walter proudly received the award on behalf of the school.

“This accolade represents the commitment and passion to raising STEM outcomes for all students in all schools across our region and across the North of England.  We are extremely proud of our teachers, technicians and associate staff and the day to day impact they have on improving children’s life chances”
