IT Support Technician – Harrogate HubJob Type: 37 hours per week, Full Time (all year round)

Description:

Harrogate High School is proud to be part of Northern Star Academies Trust, an innovative and growing multi-academy trust based around a centralised executive management function and three geographical ‘hubs’ – Harrogate, Skipton and Keighley, enabling the sharing and managing of resources in support of the local hub schools. The ICT Technician role is critical to the effective and efficient running of the schools in the Harrogate Hub. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, positive, well organised and possess the ability to work in close partnership with staff from across the schools and colleagues in the MAT Centre.

You will:

  • Work alongside another technician being responsible for the day-to-day support of all ICT services at Harrogate High School, being a point of contact for IT support escalation and problem management within the schools
  • Work within the Trust ICT team to help support all primary schools across the Harrogate Hub
  • Take a proactive approach in dealing with IT support requests and software / equipment faults to ensure a high standard of support is always maintained;
  • Monitor all critical systems, such as anti-virus, networking equipment, server hardware systems and respond to alerts generated by these systems appropriately;
  • Work closely with the Exams and Cover Manager to implement and support all online examination client / server software for individual examination boards;
  • Be efficient, organised and capable in order to prioritise tasks effectively;
  • Be approachable and possess excellent interpersonal skills

Applicants will ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working as an IT Technician preferably in a similar environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic person with excellent communication skills to lead our established After School Club. The Club Leader will have a high level of initiative and independence and lead on the provision of extended care. The Club Leader line-manages the play worker and reports to the Head-teacher, communicating with senior leadership team on the progress of the club. The Club Leader will be responsible for promoting the club and contributing to the creation of any club policies and procedure together with reporting any safeguarding concerns to the Head-Teacher/appropriate person.

Key responsibilities:
The core focus of this job is to ensure the provision of high quality out of hours school provision for children, within a positive, safe & happy environment. The post holder will do this by organising and providing an appropriate range of activities and food. Take a lead role in running the club including:

  • Maintaining a register of children
  • Preparing & providing a healthy snacks/refreshments to the children following food hygiene
    practices, and clean up afterwards
  • Prepare and set up room
  • Administer basic first aid as required
  • Undertake the personal care of children as required, including toileting, dressing, sickness
  • Ensure the children and young persons are supervised at all times
  • Contribute to the development of club policies, procedures, aims and objectives
  • Promote the club by creating promotional displays
  • Ensures the equipment is maintained and stored appropriately

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the staff team with a passion for helping every child reach their potential. This role also incorporates the role of Midday Supervisor and supporting our wrap around care. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate kindness, care and patience, have a good sense of humour and be an excellent communicator. Resilience and a sense of responsibility in terms of providing the highest level of care and support for pupils and colleagues are essential. Good organisational skills and creativity to support the after school provision are required.
