Northern Star Academies Trust believes that a child (defined by law as anyone up to 18 yrs old) should never experience abuse of any kind. We have a responsibility to promote the welfare and health of all children, and to keep them safe and free from harm. Safeguarding is a range of activities undertaken by everyone to hold the fundamental right of all stakeholders to feel SAFE within our community.

The Trust Central Team/DSL Colleagues have developed a Trust wide standardised set of CPOMS categories. This is so we can support schools, collect data, monitor patterns and be able to share expertise.
Two members of the NSAT community are being trained as Child Protection Supervisors so that we can give support to DSL/Other staff colleagues who can often carry the burden of weight. We will soon be able to support with this NSPCC fully accredited course.
The Trust has recently invested in CPOMS StaffSafe to be able to report concerns about fellow colleagues in keeping with KSIE 2021 or you are worried and have concerns about their welfare. This is currently going through a testing phase but will soon be available for all staff.
We are currently working on a NSAT QA framework. This will give us the confidence in all our schools that robust systems and training are in place for all our colleagues.
Any concerns about inappropriate conduct in school by members of staff or visitors must be taken to the Head of Academy or a member of the Safeguarding team immediately.
If you do not feel you can take your concern to the above people, please either:
